Lifeless body of SEKCO Student washed ashore in Sekondi

The body of a student from Sekondi College (SEKCO) who drowned on May Day has been washed ashore in the late hours of Tuesday morning, May 2, at Sekondi Mpi, near the Battery Doctor.

The Student whose name is given as Joojo Okyere went to the beach with his friends during the May Day holiday at Essei Beach in Sekondi.

According to an eyewitness, the incident happened at about 1 p.m when four male friends who are students from the institution went swimming at the said beach.

Whiles swimming, the three friends realised the victim was struggling and being dragged deeper into the sea by the strong tides, prompting them to call for help.

When rescue arrived, it was too late for the victim, who was no longer visible in the water.

The body has been carted away by the police to the morgue for preservation and further investigation.

Master Jojo Okyere until his death was pursing Agriculture Science.
