Virtuous Boardroom gives 6 months supply of sanitary towel to 2 JHS in Adiembra

To mark the World’s Menstrual Health Day, Virtuous Board Room, a not-for-profit organisation with the core mandate of developing and empowering the girl-child and women on Friday 26th May, 2023 donated six months supply of sanitary towels to two Junior High Schools (JHS) in Adeimbra in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis.

At the Nana Kobina Gyan JHS, 46 female Students and 19 Teachers benefitted from the benevolence of the organization.

The other school, Nana Anaise JHS also had 36 Students and 12 Teachers benefitting from the donation.

In addition to the donation, a health professional was also taken to the schools to educate the students on the appropriate use of the sanitary towel as well as what to do during menstruation period.

Members of the Virtuous Boardroom present at the donation also had peptalk with the students, inspiring them to live their best lives and learning to make a mark in their education.

Beneficiaries of the donation expressed their gratitude to the Virtuous Boardroom for the benevolence and promised to put the advice given to good use as well as making them proud.

As part of its commitment to alleviate period poverty, this is the third year that the Virtuous Boardroom is donating to students on the world menstrual health day.

The World Menstrual Health Day is observed on the 28th day of the fifth month of the year because menstrual cycles average 28 days in length and people menstruate an average of five days each month.
