The Effia Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly EKMA has been lauded for properly utilizing funding allocated to it under the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Programme (GSCSP) appraisal.
Speaking at a sod-cutting ceremony to begin the construction of 4 projects in the municipality, the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Dan Botwe said the performance assessment of EKMA has earned it another Thirty-Three Million Ghana cedis for the urban development project phase three of the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Programme.
The Minister added that EKMA is one of the municipalities out of the twenty-five municipalities that have benefited from the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Program (GSCSP) and have put the money to good use.
The Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah also commended the two MPs and the MCE for their hard work during the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Program (GSCSP) last year. He pledged his support to ensure that the projects are carried out successfully.
Hon Dr Prince Hamid Armah the MP for Kwesimintsim addressing the media, mentioned some of the projects which include the construction of a culvert at Bankyease with a 500m storm drain and the construction of a two-storey fifty -seven unit lockable shops with four offices and the paving of Kwesimintsim lorry station and said the project comes in different phases.
He added that the project when completed would bring relief to the people and ensure that the perennial flooding situation in his constituency becomes a thing of the past.
