To choose the party’s representative for the general election of 2024, over 600 delegates will cast ballots in Takoradi on Saturday, November 4, at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primary.
The delegates, who will participate in the primary at the Takoradi Central Police Canteen, include members of the constituency executive committee, coordinators of electoral areas, and certain executives of polling places.
“We are very poised to take part in the exercise to elect a flagbearer who would help the NPP to retain power in 2024,” stated Mr Emmanuel Kwabla Torkorneo, NPP Takoradi Constituency Secretary. “The feedback from the majority of the delegates is that they are ready and in a positive mood.”
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, he stated that the presidential elections committee was in charge of all the security and logistical planning for the primary and that each delegate would have the chance to cast a vote for the candidate of their choice.
“The election would be held on free and fairgrounds for all aspirants, and at the end of the day, whoever comes out on top will have the support of everyone, Mr Torkornoo noted
