GH5million needed to put Takoradi CNC in shape – Director

The Western Regional Director of Center for National Culture (CNC), Rev Ebo Kesse has revealed that a total of GHc5million is needed to put the Amphitheatre in Takoradi in good shape.

The Amphitheatre at the Takoradi Cultural Centre which has been deserted for decades has been the concern of Creative Arts players who have used various media outlets to address this issue. Speaking to the Rev. Ebo Kesse on Skyy Power FM’s ‘OC Showbiz Review’ over the weekend, he mentioned that “a total of GHc5million is needed to put the building in good shape.”

“The roofing is the main issue with the Amphitheatre. Even though there are other minor issues with the building, they are not as major as the roofing which needs a complete renovation” Rev. Kesse added.

According to Rev. Kesse, lack of funds is the main reason why the Amphitheatre has not been renovated, even though government after government have desired to renovate the building.

Mentioning some of the opportunities at the CNC, Rev. Kesse said his office is open for investment in the areas of children’s park, restaurant and durbar grounds since there are lands available for such investments.

He also added that, there is a new Amphitheatre being built close to the old one, which is a World Bank sponsored project, adding that, only five regions in Ghana benefited from this benevolence from the Bretton Woods Institution.
