The Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Western Region, Okatakyie Amankwaa Afrifra is debunking rumours that the regional executives boycotted the vetting process for parliamentary candidates at orphan constituencies.
This comes after a news circulating item suggested that the Western Regional NPP Executives boycotted the vetting session of Abeka Dauda, an aspiring parliamentary candidate for the Ellembelle constituencies.
Mr Amankwaa Afrifra speaking on Skyy Power 93.5FM’s Jolly Breakfast Show called the report non-factual, claiming that the vetting process ended successfully with no candidate being disqualified.
He claimed that even though Mr Abeka Dauda had been suspended at the regional level of the party, he has appealed at the National Level which they are yet to take a decision, hence the reason he was approved for the vetting.
Mr Amankwaa Afrifra said they are waiting for the National Executives to make a decision on Mr Dauda’s suspension before any further step is taken.
The Western Regional Vetting Committee chairman, Abdul Haruna Futa, who is also the National Nasara Coordinator for the NPP after the vetting said there are rules and regulations in the party and it is with these rules that Abeka Dauda successfully passed the vetting.
