Western Region records low turn out at exhibition of voter register

The voter exhibition register has recorded low turnout, according to the Western Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, Madam Effeh Wilson.

The exhibition of the voter register is being done for voters to double-check their information in the records of the EC for any mistake.

Speaking on the Jolly Breakfast Show on Tuesday, November 7, the regional EC director said the process has been smooth so far but the turnout in the Western Region has been very low percentage-wise.

The exercise ends at 6 P.M on Tuesday, November 7.

He said voters whose names are not in the register, multiple booklet and the exceptional list would not be allowed to vote on the day of the election but others with minor corrections on their date of birth and names would be allowed to vote, hence the importance for people to take advantage of the exhibition exercise.

She also explained issues of vote transfers and assured the general public that they are still working on them as every issue related would soon be rectified.

“We are still working on the transfer of votes, we are working on the provisional register and everybody who did transfer from 2020 would be available after we are done working on them.”

The NPP Constituency chairman in Shama, Mr Kwame Tawiah says the reason Mr Kennedy Agyapong turned out victorious in the just-ended presidential primaries was a result of propaganda against him and the District Chief Executive (DCE).
