To stimulate economic activity, former President John Dramani Mahama has assured the residents of Jomoro in the Western Region that the next National Democratic Congress (NDC)-led administration will establish a petrochemical business in their area.
He said this was a component of the plans to grow the oil and gas sector.
During his two-day “Building Ghana Tour” visit to the region, former President Mahama—the NDC’s flagbearer for the general election of 2024—spoke to the chiefs and residents of Jaway-Wharf in the Jomoro Municipality.
To increase commerce and resurrect commercial activity in the formerly bustling town, he also recommended constructing an ultramodern market at Jaway-Wharf.
He promised the inhabitants and chiefs that an asphaltic road overlay would bring modernity to the region and facilitate trade.
The former president is scheduled to speak to students at the Esiama Nursing Training School and at a town hall gathering in the Ellembelle District at Ambainu.
Later on, in Axim, he would host another town hall gathering for the chiefs and residents of the Evaloe-Adjomoro Gwira Constituency.
