Prez. Akufo-Addo sacks Oda MCE

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has revoked the appointment of Victoria Adu as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Birim Central in the Eastern Region.

In September 2019, Ms Victoria Adu was officially appointed as MCE for Birim Central following the death of the late MCE of the area.

On Wednesday, 19th March 2024, the President who is the appointing authority revoked her appointment citing Article 243 (3) (b) of the Constitution and Section 20 (3) (b) of the Local Governance Act 2016 (Act 936).

The letter was issued from the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, as the Ministry expressed gratitude to Madam Victoria Adu on behalf of the president for her service to the state.

Ms. Victoria Adu was the headmistress at Akyem Oda’s El-Shadai Junior High School and the Women’s Organiser for the NPP before her appointment.

Her dismissal tallied with the 26 other MMDCEs who were recently sacked by the President.
