Mahama accuses gov’t of neglecting development in Wenchi

Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama has accused the Akufo-Addo administration of failing to ensure development for the people of Wenchi in the Bono Region.

He assured the people of the area to bring the needed development if he is voted for in this year’s elections to be president again.

He said this when the Omanhene of Wenchi, Osagyefo Ampem Ani Amoapong Tabraku II, his chiefs and queen mothers, Muslim chiefs and imams and the christian clergy joined him at the Wenchi Jubilee Park for the #Mahama4Change2024 community engagement.

Ina Facebook post after the engagement, Mr Mahama said “Wenchi is today lacking development because of the neglect of the area by government. But they have hope and believe that the next NDC administration I will be leading will turn this around for the better.

“That confidence is because of the faith they have in me and the NDC, and also because they believe in my experience.”

Meanwhile, Mr Mahama will be filing his nominations at the Electoral Commission (EC) today Monday, September 9 to enable him to contest in this year’s general elections.

The forms will be submitted by the National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia.

In a post on his Facebook page, Mr Mahama said “My nomination forms as Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), with Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as Vice Presidential Candidate, will be formally submitted to the Electoral Commission on Monday at 2.00 pm.

“The submission of the forms by our National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, represents a pivotal step in our campaign for change on December 7. We are all in this together, working with Ghanaians to RESET Ghana’s economy and ‘Build the Ghana we want together’.”
