Former President John Dramani Mahama and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Flagbearers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) respectively, will be filing their nominations at the Electoral Commission (EC) today Monday, September 9 to enable them to contest in this year’s general elections.
On John Mahama’s behalf, the forms will be submitted by the National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia.
In a post on his Facebook page, Mr Mahama said “My nomination forms as Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), with Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as Vice Presidential Candidate, will be formally submitted to the Electoral Commission on Monday at 2.00 pm.
“The submission of the forms by our National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, represents a pivotal step in our campaign for change on December 7. We are all in this together, working with Ghanaians to RESET Ghana’s economy and ‘Build the Ghana we want together’.”
For Dr Bawumia, he would be accompanied by his Running Mate and Vice Presidential Candidate, Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Party’s National Chairman and General Secretary, the Majority Leader in Parliament, and some few Party Leaders.
“After filing his presidential nomination, the Presidential Candidate would be addressing party sympathizers and the general public at the Party’s National Headquarters at 9:00am,” a statement issued by NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Mr Frimpong announced.
