Apple has officially launched the iPhone 16 series during its “Glowtime” event on Monday, introducing four new models now available for preorder ahead of their release on September 20.
The iPhone 16 series features Apple’s new AI suite, dubbed Apple Intelligence, alongside next-generation processors and several hardware upgrades, including larger displays for the Pro models. One of the standout features for the standard models is the addition of the Action button, previously only available on Pro models. All four versions of the iPhone 16 now also include a new Camera Control button, allowing users to customize their photo and video settings through touch-responsive gestures.
iPhone 16 models
The iPhone 16 series mirrors the lineup of recent generations, offering four models: the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Notably, the iPhone “Mini” has not made a return, having been discontinued after the iPhone 14 series, and rumors of an iPhone 16 “Ultra” did not materialize in this release.
iPhone 16 release date
The entire iPhone 16 lineup is available for preorder on Apple’s website, with a full release scheduled for September 20. The phones will be available through Apple, carriers, and other retailers.
