Govt has pushed 870,000 Ghanaians below the poverty line – Mahama

Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Former President John Dramani Mahama has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP)  government of impoverishing Ghanaians.

Currently, he said, the government has pushed 870,000 Ghanains below the poverty line.

Mr Mahama said this while accusing the government of vote buying ahead of the 2024 general elections.

Mr Mahama observed that NPP memmebrs are moving around marets areas across the country sharing One Litre if cooking oil to market women.

They are going to bring money and this to buy your votes, please don’t be persuaded d. I was watching a video and NPP in the market distributing a One Litre bottle of oil, the point I make is it is because you have impoverished the people.

“It is because you have put 870,000 Ghanaians below the poverty line that you can go and be deceived them with a bottle of oil,” he said when addressing a crowd at Chereponi in the North East region on Monday, October 28.

Mr Mahama further urged Ghanaians to vote for him and the NPP.
