Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Former President John Dramani Mahama has accused President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of neglecting the development needs of communities in the Central Region.
Mr Mahama stated that after touring fourteen constituencies in the Central Region so far, he could not help but join the chiefs and people in condemning the neglect of the communities for petty partisan political reasons.
“It pains me to see our cherished communities grappling with the neglect of crucial development projects vital for their growth and well-being. The words uttered by the chiefs in Ekumfi, Brakwa, and Ajumako Besease on Saturday echoed the frustrations of many—young people, families and households—who deserve better infrastructure, healthcare, education, and opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.
“How does a government ignore the needs of the people it governs, seemingly punishing communities for their democratic choices in voting for the NDC and electing its parliamentary candidates? This is not just a political issue but a matter of justice and accountability. Every citizen, regardless of their political allegiance, deserves to have their voices heard and their needs addressed,” Mr Mahama wrote on Facebook.
He added “As I have done before when I was president and will lead this country to achieve again, development shall be a right for all, not a privilege for a few. The NDC administration of John Mahama and Naana Jane will ensure the progress of our communities and meet your needs, and I promise that no community will be left behind.”
