Tadi: Man’s penis cut in lover’s room

A man in his sixties has had his genitalia severed under bizarre circumstances at Kwesimintsim, a community in the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipality of the Western Region.

The victim, Samuel Sam, who narrowly escaped death, lives and works in Tarkwa. Reports indicate he visited his girlfriend, Stella, who lives in a family house at Kwesimintsim Zongo, to spend the Easter holidays with her when the incident occurred.

Eric Acolatse, Assemblymember for the area, confirmed the incident to Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson, host of Connect FM’s Omanbapa Morning Show. He explained that the couple decided to enjoy fresh air in the house’s compound after their electricity was switched off.

“According to reports, around 10:30 p.m. that evening, Mr. Sam and Stella decided to sleep outside in the compound to enjoy fresh air. A few minutes later, Mr. Sam returned to the bedroom to sleep, and Stella followed shortly after. Upon entering the room, Stella stepped into what she initially thought was a drop of water. The lights were off, but when she turned them on, she was met with a horrific sight. Her lover, Mr. Sam, was lying naked in a pool of blood with a bread knife beside him. His penis and testicles had been severed,” he indicated.

The victim was immediately rushed to the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital for treatment. According to the Assemblymember, Mr. Sam is currently responding to treatment. Doctors have confirmed that his penis was completely severed, while part of his testicles was also cut off.

After interrogation, the victim claimed to have been attacked in the bedroom by two unidentified men. According to him, the men held him down and used a knife to mutilate him. Stella was initially arrested by the police for questioning but has since been granted bail,” Mr. Acolatse added.

Meanwhile, speculation in the community suggests that the attack could be connected to Stella’s past relationships — possibly involving a current or former lover, or even a jealous ‘sugar daddy’ she may have distanced herself from due to her relationship with Mr. Sam.
