I’ll not disappoint Ghanaians – Mahama pledges

President John Dramani Mahama has assured the people of the Eastern Region—and Ghanaians at large—of his unwavering commitment to delivering on all campaign promises.

Addressing a large crowd at the Koforidua Jackson Park on Sunday, July 20, as part of his “Thank You Tour”, President Mahama expressed deep gratitude for the support he received during the 2024 polls and vowed not to let the people down.

“Thanks for the warm reception,” he said to a cheering audience. “Due to the confidence reposed in me by electing me once again as President, I promise not to disappoint you. With the grace of God, we will fulfil all our promises to the Eastern Region and Ghanaians as a whole.”

The event in Koforidua marked a key stop on Mahama’s post-election tour, which seeks to express appreciation to voters, reinforce his administration’s priorities, and strengthen ties with communities across the country. Supporters and regional party executives gathered in their numbers, chanting party slogans and waving National Democratic Congress (NDC) paraphernalia.

Mahama’s remarks echoed his broader message of unity, inclusive development, and renewed focus on infrastructure, education, job creation, and health services—areas he emphasised during the 2024 campaign.

Local leaders and traditional authorities who were present at the rally welcomed the President’s commitment and called for urgent attention to development challenges facing the region, including road infrastructure and youth unemployment.
