My heart breaks, I think that he’s gone – ‘Rambo’ mourns Hulk Hogan

Legendary actor Sylvester Stallone has mourned the death of wrestling icon Hulk Hogan with a moving tribute that recalls their unforgettable collaboration in Rocky III.

The Hollywood star described Hogan as a “brilliant personality and showman,” expressing heartbreak over the loss of someone who helped make one of his most iconic films truly special in a post he shared on Facebook.

“I had the pleasure of meeting this brilliant personality and showman when he was 26 years old,” Stallone shared. “He was absolutely wonderful, and his amazing skill made Rocky III incredibly special. My heart breaks. I think that he’s gone…”

Stallone and Hogan first worked together on the 1982 boxing drama Rocky III, where Hogan played the flamboyant and formidable wrestler Thunderlips.

The film marked one of Hogan’s first major crossovers from wrestling into the world of Hollywood, and Stallone has often credited Hogan’s electrifying performance with adding a unique energy to the movie.

Hogan, whose real name was Terry Gene Bollea, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the age of 71.

His management confirmed that he died after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest

Known for his towering presence, iconic mustache, and larger-than-life charisma, Hulk Hogan rose to fame in the 1980s as one of the most recognized and beloved figures in professional wrestling.

His “Hulkamania” brand captured the hearts of millions, and his influence extended far beyond the ring. He became a pop culture staple, starring in movies, TV shows, and appearing in countless endorsements.
