VIDEO: Fire breaks out at Accra Tourist Information Centre

A fire broke out at the Accra Tourist Information Centre in the early hours of Monday, August 4, around 1:00 a.m., with initial reports suggesting that the blaze started from the kitchen area of Rockz Waakye, a popular food vendor operating within the premises.

The exact cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.

However, personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded swiftly, arriving with five fire tenders to contain and extinguish the flames.

No injuries or casualties have been reported so far.

Authorities are investigating the incident, and more details are expected to emerge.

In a related development, a separate fire incident occurred on Sunday, August 3, near the Madina Redco Flats. The fierce blaze engulfed multiple makeshift wooden and metal structures in the area. The GNFS received the emergency call at 12:36 p.m., and the first fire appliance from the Madina Fire Station arrived at 12:40 p.m.
