Mahama welcomes German President to Jubilee House

President John Dramani Mahama on Monday, November 3, welcomed the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency Frank-Walter Steinmeier, to the Jubilee House in Accra as part of a three-day state visit to Ghana.

The German leader’s visit, which runs from Sunday, November 2 to Tuesday, November 4, 2025, seeks to strengthen the long-standing partnership between Ghana and Germany, with a focus on deepening cooperation in trade, investment, technology, and development

An official ceremony was held at the Forecourt of The Presidency, where President Steinmeier inspected a full military Guard of Honour before proceeding to the Credentials Room for a private meeting with President Mahama.

The two leaders are expected to lead their respective delegations in bilateral talks centered on expanding economic collaboration and promoting innovation, renewable energy, and industrial growth.

Following the discussions, President Mahama will host a State Luncheon at the Presidential Banquet Hall in honour of his German counterpart and his delegation.

As part of his engagements in Accra, President Steinmeier is expected to visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park to lay a wreath at the tomb of Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. He will also interact with young Ghanaian IT specialists and later attend a reception at the German Ambassador’s Residence.

On Tuesday, the final day of his visit, President Steinmeier will travel to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, where he will perform a sod-cutting ceremony at the Kumasi Technical Institute.

He will also engage with staff and students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), tour the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research, and pay a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace.
