Man electrocuted as he attempts to steal from food vendor

A 30-year-old man has reportedly died after being electrocuted while attempting to steal from a fried rice and jollof seller at Berekum East in the Bono Region, according to Crime Check Ghana.

The deceased, popularly known in the area as Commotion, was said to have lived in the same neighborhood as the food vendor. Residents told Crime Check Ghana that the woman had been dealing with repeated cases of theft but had no idea who the culprit was — until tragedy struck.

According to the report, Commotion was allegedly trying to steal from the vendor again when he was electrocuted, bringing his life to an abrupt and shocking end.

The incident has left the Berekum East community in disbelief, with many expressing sorrow and surprise over the unexpected turn of events.

Police are yet to release an official statement, but residents say the event serves as a grim reminder of how desperation and wrongdoing can lead to devastating consequences.
