NSS to lock registration system on Friday with 50% of personnel yet to report – Deputy DG

The National Service Scheme (NSS) will shut down its registration system on Friday, with half of this year’s deployed personnel yet to report, according to the Deputy Director-General in charge of Operations, Fuseini Donkor.

Speaking on the AM Show, Donkor expressed frustration over the low reporting rate, revealing that only 50% of personnel have completed registration despite repeated reminders.

He warned that the system will not remain open beyond the deadline.

“By Friday, we are closing the system,” he said.

“Today is Wednesday, and 50% of them have not reported. Our system can take even a million, but they must report and register.”

Fuseini Donkor criticised what he described as deliberate delays and attempts by some personnel to bypass the official process.

He noted that regional offices have been left idle because many deployed personnel are refusing to report, believing they can later return with money to change their postings.

“The frustration they are giving to the system is becoming too much,” he lamented. “Most of the regional offices are just sitting there doing nothing because somebody thinks, ‘I will bring money, I will change it for you.’ Please, by Friday, we are locking the system.”

The Service is expected to issue further updates as the deadline approaches.
