“We need an all English song from Sarkodie” Non-Ghanaian fans request

IMG-20130824-WA003As an epitome of Rap in Ghana, Sarkodie is arguably the only name that first comes to mind when any Ghanaian is boosting of exceptional Rapper from this country. Selling Ghana Music across the continent, his proficiency was credited with the winning of BET Award; this grew his non-Ghanaian fan base incredibly.

In my daily online surfing to get a newsworthy subject to report on, I came across this group on Facebook which discusses Showbiz of all types. One subject which caught my attention was the non Ghanaians who were asking Sarkodie to give them “an all English song”. To them, they are great fans of the ‘Rapperholic’ who is now hailed as ‘Elijah.  “We enjoy his flow even though we hardly get most of the words” some said. “I like Sarkodie so much and I wish I can speak Twi to rap along” another spewed.

Austin Xhibuike also messaged Team Sarkodie via Sarkodie Fan Club on Facebook with this – Other non ghfans need a single in english. we love sark but don’t understand what he’s saying.

In my survey, I realized Sarkodie is gradually inculcating English into his raps lately since his attention has been drawn to his International Fan base, most of them being non-Twi speakers.

This piece is an appeal on behalf of the fans who are requesting for an all English song from Sarkodie even though they are aware he wants to be himself, stay Original and spit in his own language.
