The Agona East District Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Neenyi Kofi Taboe has suggested that leaders of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and New Patriotic Party (NPP) deposit their travelling documents with the Supreme Court prior to the verdict.
This he said, was to assure Ghanaians that they would not foment trouble and run away to foreign countries if the verdict of the Supreme Court on the 2012 Election Petition did not favour them.
Neenyi Tagoe, who is also the Chief of Osubonpanyin near Winneba in the Effutu Municipality, made the suggestion when he addressed the Conference of Mid-South Administration Unit of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church at Agona Nsaba in the Central Region.
Neenyi Tagoe, said if the politicians knew that they would be made to face the consequence of their actions and that they could not get the chance to run away, they would not do anything to disturb the peace.
He called on Ghanaians not to allow any politician to influence them to cause trouble because of the 2012 election petition.
Neenyi Tagoe said both the petitioners and the respondents went to court as individual citizens but not as leaders of groups.
