Agyemang Badu hospitalized in Italy

Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has been hospitalized in Italy after suffering a pulmonary microembolism.

According to a statement issued by his club side, Hellas Verona, the former Udinese midfielder has been hospitalized at the Sacred Heart Hospital where further investigations are being conducted.

The statement added that his condition has been stabilized and he will remain under observation for a few days.

Badu, 28, join Hellas Verona in June on loan with an option to buy from Udinese at the end of the season.

He has been a player of Udinese since 2010 but had a stint on loan at Bursaspor in the Turkish Süper Lig in the 2017-18 season.

The U-20 FIFA World Cup winner endured an injury-ravaged campaign last season in the Italian Serie A, making only four appearances.

Badu was not invited by Black Stars head coach Kwasi Appiah for the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt.

He has been capped 76 times by Ghana, scoring 11 goals.
