Western Region ready for Western Tennis Championship slated for November 1

The euphoria amongst the sports fraternity in the Western Region as the maiden edition of Western Tennis Championship is approaching keeps increasing.

Last Saturday 26th October, 2019, at a presser at Raybow International Hotel in Takoradi, Westline Consult, organizers of the Western Tennis Championship announced November 1 to 3 as the dates for the championship event.

Briefing the media at the presser, Reuben Mbrah, the Marketing Manager for Westline Consult said that the organization known for Western Music Awards are happy to champion initiatives especially with lesser known events. “When this idea of the Western Tennis Championship came up, people wondered if we could even get 10 people in the region but we are happy to know that there are a lot of Lawn Tennis Players in the region which is evident in the on going registration” Mr. Mbrah told the media. 

Sponsors of the event, Kent Investment and Integrity Logistics Company said “Tennis has been touted as a privileged sport for a very long time, but that changed with the story of Venus and Serena Williams who came from a humble beginnings to be world champions and icons of the game.” 

Mr. Baffour who represented the Sponsors further said “my partner and I jumped at the opportunity to sponsor this maiden Western Tennis Championship as part of our corporate social responsibility and my husband Richard is an avid tennis fan and player. Richard is a big admirer of Mariah Sharapovan and Ana Konakova.”

Participants will arrive on Friday November 1 which is the opening ceremony which would be held at Takoradi Sports Club. It continues through to 3rd November, 2019 at 8 am each day.
