Jamaican arrested for defiling 3 girls

A 50-year-old Jamaican, identified only as Anthony, is currently spending time in Akuse police cells in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region after he allegedly defiled three girls.

The suspect, popularly known as Rasta, was grabbed last week and had since been remanded in police custody by an Odumase-Krobo Circuit Court to reappear on Thursday, November 14, 2019.

Rasta was arrested when one of the victims fell ill and started discharging fluids from her private part.

He reportedly defiled the girls whose ages are 11, 14 and 15 respectively when they went to his house to pluck guava on different occasions.

It was the unit committee chairman for the Okwenya Electoral Area who reported the incident to the police after Rasta threatened one of the victims with death if she told anyone about her sexual encounter with him.

According to the unit committee chairman, further investigations conducted revealed that other minors in the community had similarly been defiled by the suspect.

Further checks indicated that the suspect, who has lived in the community since 2005, had taken advantage to lure school girls who frequent his house to pluck guava, and had sex with them.

Police

The Akuse Police Commander, ASP Winfred Asare Nyarko, who confirmed the incident, told journalists that Rasta initially vehemently denied defiling the three girls but later admitted having sex with a 14-year-old girl who is not one of the three girls he was arrested for allegedly defiling.

According to ASP Nyarko, a medical report had confirmed that Rasta defiled the three victims and added that the police were searching for the girl Rasta admitted having sex with to aid in the investigations.
