Akufo Addo’s Victory Song Pops Up

Buoyed by false hope, some fanatics of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), got carried away into fantasy, composing victory song for Nana Akufo-Addo, obviously assured that the nine Supreme Court justices were going to declare him the validly elected president.

The writers, composers, artists and sponsors of the five-minute-twenty five seconds victory song, which mentioned Nana Addo’s name many times, shockingly placed Justice William Atuguba as a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and John Mahama’s legal team were unknown.

It has, however, gone viral with The Herald even receiving many copies from friends in London, some of whom are also shocked at the level of desperation in the NPP, to an extent of composing a song welcoming Nana Addo to the presidency to implement his audacious Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, while the Supreme Court case was still ongoing.

The song also gives credence to Sammy Awuku’s claims on the recently leaked audio tape from London that the longest-serving Supreme Court judge, Justice Atuguba was purposefully targeted out of the nine Supreme Court justices by the NPP to be bastardised.

The composers had done a remix of the latest hit song of ace hip-life artist Kwabena Kwabena, called “Adult Music”.
Kwabena Kwabena, has never hidden his affiliation to the NPP and his personal love for the twice defeated NPP presidential candidate. But it is not clear whether the party fanatics behind the song, have his permission to use his song’s rhythm for this purpose.

The song also features Samini also known as Batman, and again it is not clear whether he was also contacted to permit the use of the rhythm.

The relics of the song welcome Nana Addo as the winner of the election petition case at the Supreme Court, and touted his free SHS policy.

The composers rained invectives on the presiding judge of the court, Justice William Atubuga, denigrating him together with the NDC lead lawyers namely; Tsastu Tsikata, Tony Lithur, as well as James Quarshie-Idun, the lead counsel for the Electoral Commission (EC).

The song after belittling the lawyers of the respondents in the case, was full of praise for the petitioners lead counsel Phillip Addison.

The song goes on to describe Nana Addo as the only individual who has the capacity to make Ghana, a heaven on earth by offering free National Health Insurance (NHIS).

The music further insinuated that when Nana Addo and his running mate were carrying brief cases made up of “pink sheets “ to advance their case , Mr. Johnson Asiedu-Nketia, the General Secretary of the NDC was carrying whisky and drunk to the court and belching on it while loose -talking in the dock.

The music posited that General Mosquito had been drinking the whisky together with the chairman of the Electoral Commission (EC), Dr Kwadwo Afari-Gyan.

The song appears to be one of the many things the NPP did, cock sure that the election petition was go to be declared in its favour.
Giant victory billboards were mounted in parts of Accra and a 31-page book was also in circulation titled: “Election 2012; Fraud & Plunder” claiming a systemic vote stealing for President John Mahama by the EC.

Until last week Thursday, Nana Addo, his running mate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Jake Obestebi-Lamptey, the NPP National Chairman, were for eight months at the Supreme Court challenging the eligibility of President John Mahama as the winner of the December 7, but the case was dismissed on August 29, by the Supreme Court justices.
