This brings to total, 38 suspected cases in the Western Region. Test results on twenty-nine (29) of these cases came out negative. With these new cases (5), the total number of results pending for the COVID-19 lab test will shoot up to nine (9).
Dr. Dodor is hopeful the results of the previous five [pending] samples will be produced today.
He however took the opportunity to urge residents of the region to remain calm and ensure enhanced personal hygiene amid the crisis. He disclosed that the number of suspected COVID-19 suspected cases is expected to rise, given that they have enhanced their surveillance on the disease.
” …it means our surveillance is working, so that is why we are able to detect the cases and test them. It means our system is working. There’s no need to panic” he justified.
