Immigration Officers at Kofi Badurkom in the Dormaa township, a border town (in the Brong Ahafo Region) to Cote D’Ivoire is in dire need of resources in this abnormal times as Immigration Officers use their private cars to patrol the border.

Sources in the Immigration Service tell www.233times.net that the immigration work at the border town is now at the mercy of an Officer whose private car is available. “Anytime there is a patrol to be done at the border, we have to sort to motorbike or someone’s private car. As there have been reported cases of people sneaking into Ghana through the borders, we need all the necessary resources for us to undertake our work effectively. Even last week, some three people were sneaking into Ghana from Togo. When we arrested them, they were conveyed to Sunyani in a private car.”

“We checked the temperatures of these three and all of them had normal body temperatures. My Commander helped me with money to buy fuel in order to take them to Sunyani” ” a deep throat in the Immigration Service told www.233times.net.

The Immigration Officers at Kofi Badukrom is appealing to the government to support them with vehicles and other resources to make their work effective.
