The Blacks Stars of Ghana have been drawn against the Pharaohs of Egypt in the play-off round of qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
This follows Monday’s draw ceremony held at the CAF headquarters in Egypt.
The Black Stars will play home in the first leg of the two-leg tie on the weekend of 11-15 October, with the return match set for November 15-19.
The aggregate winner after the two-leg tie qualifies to the finals in Brazil.
The ten African sides who reached the play-off stage have discovered their fate in a draw which took place at the Cairo headquarters of the Confederation of African Football.
Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal and Tunisia are teams still in contention for the continent’s five places at the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ and they were paired accordingly:
Côte d’Ivoire – Senegal
Ethiopia – Nigeria
Tunisia – Cameroon
Ghana – Egypt
Burkina Faso – Algeria
Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Tunisia were the seeded teams, with Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Egypt, Ethiopia and Senegal unseeded.
The ties will be played between 11-15 October 2013 and 15-19 November 2013.
