Essikado-Ketan: Dr. Grace Ayensu accuses Joe Ghartey of rigging, refuses to concede (Statement)

National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Essikado-Ketan Constituency, Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah has accused the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) who is also the Minister of Railways Development Minister, Hon. Joe Ghartey, of rigging yesterday’s parliamentary elections.

In a statement released by the Chairman of Dr. Ayensu-Danquah’s campaign, there were “importation of illegal ballot boxes with broken seals, etc etc.”

www.233times.net has learnt that Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah has refused to sign to concede the loss stating that she was leading with “51% of total votes cast across 153 polling stations within the constituency.” She is currently contesting the results which is making it difficult for the Electoral Commission to declare Hon. Joe Gharety as the winner of the elections.
