Oil and Gas professional and Philanthropist Yaa Amoako-Adu says empowering the next generation of women entrepreneurs and employers is her greatest priority this year.
Yaa Amoako-Adu who became a local partner to an International third-party inspection company in the Oil and Gas sector at age 33 posits that it is possible to achieve any dream when one works hard towards it.
Recognizing the contribution of mentorship in the careers of young ladies, Yaa believes with her network of astute female professionals, they can raise the next generation of employers and entrepreneurs.
The 2020 ‘Ghana 40 Under 40 Awards’ recipient has revealed that together with her team, they will roll out summits for the females to equip them with the requisite skills.
Ms. Amoako-Adu began her career path in oil and gas industry in 2008; her first employment appointment in the sector was an Administrative Assistant for Global Energy Ventures, a British based Company. She later became the Operations Secretary in the company.
In 2011, Yaa joined Apave Ghana Limited, a French Company as Administrative Officer and rose through the ranks from:
Administrative Officer – 2011 – 2012
Head of Administration – 2012 – 2014
Head of Administration and Finance – 2014 – 2015
Local Content and Local Affairs and Regulations – 2015 – present.
Yaa is a strong advocate for inspiring women in the oil and gas industry; an initiative which found her rubbing shoulders with executive of the world’s leading emerging companies.
