Police hold security sensitization for 220 Mobile Money Vendors in Sekondi-Takoradi

The Western Regional Police Command on Friday 16th April 2021 met some two hundred and twenty (220) Mobile Money Vendors from MTN, Vodafone and Airtel-Tigo at SSNIT Coference Hall, Takoradi.

The purpose of the meeting was to share basic and personal security measures with the Mobile Money Vendors on how to operate in safe environments. They were sensitized to be security conscious so that they don’t fall victim to criminals.

The Command took time to answer questions from the participants. DCOP/Mr F Fosu-Agyeman, Western Regional Police Commander took the participants through security measures which included the following:

  • The need to operate in a secured premises, for instance, fortified metallic containers, cement block building. He advised them to be vigilant to enable them to identify wrong doing and alert the Police.
  • The need to keep their financial matters confidential, avoid keeping large sum of money in their home and workplaces.
  • The need for the vendors to keep clients yet to be served distant from the one who is being served and all transactions should be confidential.

The dignitaries present included Mr Prince Owusu Nyarko, Regional Senior Manager, MTN Ghana, Mr Kwame Baah, Regional Executive Head, Vodafone Ghana and MrJudah Mensah, Regional Manager, Airtel-Tigo.
