MUSIGA asked to provide ‘Ghost’ PR Names

Pressure is beginning to mount on the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) to provide the names of journalists who are supposed to be on the union’s Public Relations (PR) team.
For close to two years, the Union under the leadership of Bice ‘Obuor’ Osei Kuffour has been including in its book of achievements that some top-notch journalists in Ghana form part of its impeccable PR team.
The names of these journalists have however remained a mystery and this has become a major issue of concern among discerning Ghanaians in the industry.
Doubts of the authenticity of this claim have become an issue of concern especially when MUSIGA has still not been able provided a single name to back its claim.
Meanwhile, entertainment pundits and several art writers have concluded that the Union’s inability to provide the identity of these journalists as requested simply means that monies are probably being paid to ‘ghost names’.
According to some key players in the entertainment industry, it is impossible for a Union that has been struggling to manage its corporate image and several issues ranging from accountability, through mass resignation to poor communication among others, to have a PR team including journalists.
NEWS-ONE investigations also confirm that since the beginning of the year, the Union has been struggling to put up a well-structured PR team to handle its affairs.
Perhaps MUSIGA’s silence on the issue is one of the PR moves to resolve the issue at hand.
