
The President has appointed High Commissioner Mike Oquaye Jr to head the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA).
This appointment was revealed by Asempa FM’s ‘Ekosii sen’ on its Monday 2nd August edition. According to the authoritative social and political radio programme, H.E. Mike Oquaye Jr received the letter of appointment on July 30, 2021.
H.E. Mike Oquaye Jr until his recent appointment was Ghana’s High Commissioner to India with concurrent responsibility for Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Maldives.
H.E. Mike Oquaye Junior attended Presbyterian Secondary School (PRESEC-LEGON) where he was the lead singer in the school band.
After PRESEC, H.E. Mike Oquaye furthered his education in England where he studied Law and took a year off in 1994 to do music.
Until H.E. Oquaye’s appointment, Michael Okyere Baafi was the CEO of the Ghana Free Zones Authority.
The GFZA is an agency of Ministry of Trade and Industry responsible for the implementation of the free zones programme.
