Actor Kohwe is dead

Veteran Actor Kofi Laing, popularly known as Kohwe has died.

Confirming the news of the passing on of his father, daughter of the Actor, Comfort Laing said her father passed away at their Accra residence on the evening of Thursday, September 16, 2021.

Kohwe who is popular for his sterling roles in ‘Akan Drama’ and ‘District Colonial Court’ soap operas was reported to have suffered a stroke and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital. Pictures of him in the stroke state went viral on the internet.

Before passing on to glory, Kohwe appealed to the Ghanaian populace for support as his living condition had become nothing good to write home about.

He extended the call for support to other veteran Actors who are also living in poor conditions, adding that they are all not living well in their old age.

This attracted the support of Barbara Oteng Gyasi, a former Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister and other philanthropists to his aid.

Kohwe died at age 75.
