Dancehall Artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah professionally known as Shatta Wale and two others have been arrested by the Ghana Police Service.
This was in line with the Artiste and his team members faking reports that he was shot by some unknown gunmen on Monday, October 18, 2021.
The Ghana Police Service confirmed the arrest in a post on social media on Tuesday October 19.
The two who were arrested with the ‘Dancehall Commando’ hitmaker are Artiste’s Public Relations Manager, Kojo Owusu Koranteng, also known as Nana Dope and Eric Venator, alias Gangee.
They are facing charges of having the intention to cause fear and alarm among the public.
Shatta Wale in a post on social media after Police announced that they were in search of him apologized to his fans and those who had been affected by the prank.
He admitted making those fake posts himself with the social media accounts of his team members and made reference to a prophecy that was made by a Preacher that he would be shot dead on October 18, 2021.
He also in the post mentioned that the security agencies should have given him protection following the prophecy, hence his decision to prank Ghanaians.
The Police have started investigations into the alleged shooting incident had commenced.By Nana Kwesi Coomson
