Five People, including a juvenile and a female are in the custody of the Ejura Police for alleged highway robbery at Ejura Sekyedumase area of the Ashanti Region.
The four suspects, Ajara Sagu, Rashid Ibrahim, Ibrahim Iddrisu, Musah Azumah and a 14 year old boy were arrested at Ejura after police mounted extensive surveillance on them.
They were said to have embarked on robbery expedition on highways linking Nkoranza and Techiman in the Bono East Region and the Ejura Sekyedumase Municipal area of the Ashanti Region before they were arrested.
On the spot search conducted on the suspects led to the discovery of 10 mobile phones, an Infinix charger and a lady’s handbag.
Other items police said they believe the suspects had robbed from their victims were unregistered Apsonic Aloba motorbike and an amount of GHC2,279.
According to a statement from the Ghana Police signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Kwesi Ofori, Director General, Public Affairs, sighted by DGN Online, “A driver who was a victim of the suspects along the Techiman-Ejura highway, during police investigation identified all the four suspects and the juvenile as the robbers who attacked him on November 15, 2021 at Adiema.
Other victims have also come forward and identified these criminals and their stolen items.”
The police administration therefore commended the Ejura Police for their efforts in ensuring that robbery activities become undesirable in Ejura and its surrounding communities and assured the public on the police steps in making sure that the country is safe.
