MUSIGA negotiates with Estate Developers (FLYCOTEC Ltd) to build houses for musicians

300..1.1559843The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) will soon acquire land to build houses for musicians in Ghana in a bid to ensure the comfort and future sustenance of musicians.

The Union has commenced negotiations with Estate Developers, FLYCOTEC Limited to acquire lands for self-housing and other projects for musicians. FLYCOTEC are also the developers of the Triplet City Property at OJOBI, Atlantic City, near Kasoa in the Central Region.

MUSIGA is also making plans to build a city that will be fully inhabited by musicians where music will reign together with the rich Ghanaian culture thud creating more jobs to boost the coffers of musicians and the Ghanaian economy.

Last week, a delegation from MUSIGA that included the likes of Okyeame Kwame, Deborah Anaman, Chizzy Wailer, Della Hayes, Tic Tac and Pat Thomas, led by the President, Mr. Bice Osei Kuffour, in the company of Nana Lincoln, the CEO of FLYCOTEC – inspected the vast land that will be made available to musicians.

Due process is being followed towards the signing of an MOU between the two parties’ for the benefit of members of MUSIGA, whereby through the Union, fully registered and litigation-free lands will be made affordable and accessible to musicians for personal projects, metamorphosing into a beautiful city inhabited by musicians.

Part of the land will also be demarcated for ageing musicians where houses will be built to house retired musicians who may have accommodation-related challenges in their old age.

Among the names suggested for this project are Music Villa, Music City, and Ndwom Krom, to mention a few which boils down to a name for a beautiful place for musicians.
