Western Region records 18 Covid-19 cases

The Western Region of Ghana has recorded eighteen (18) new cases of the deadly coronavirus disease.

Mr Benjamin Amihere, the Health Promotion Officer in charge of public health of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) in the region urged and encouraged Ghanaians to abide by the COVID protocols, i.e. the washing of hands, the application of sanitisers, the social distancing and the wearing of masks.

Again, those who are yet to be vaccinated should make it a priority to do so. According to him, Ghanaians should note that pregnant women and people between the ages of 15-17years are subscribed to the Pfizer dose and the rest must go in for the booster doses.

He indicated that the 18 patients are all in stable condition with no severe cases recorded, due to that, they have isolated themselves and are being cared for in their homes.

Mr Amihere also attributed the rise in cases to the fact that most people have let their guard down when it comes to protecting themselves and the reopening of the country’s borders has also not helped.

He however stated that one of the basic things one can do in terms of protection is to adhere to the protocols.
