Ritual killing in Sefwi Bekwai: Youth calls on IGP

Sefwi Bekwai Youth Association, a pressure group in the Western North Region in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality today, July 28, are on the street chanting war songs in their black and red attire demonstrating over recent ritual killings in the area.

Nana Kofi Kintoh, convener of the youth group addressing the media mentioned that the act of beheading people in the Sefwi Bekwa for alleged spiritual purposes is damaging the reputation of the town and its natives which can retard the development of the area.

According to him, their spontaneous demonstration was triggered by a recent rampant killing and the beheading of Martha Tetteh, a 27-year-old young lady who travelled from Kumasi to consult a spiritualist in the Sefwi Bekwai area.

Five (5) suspects whose names have been given as Solomon Sam a.k.a. Paa Solo, John Nana Addai a.k.a. Akwasi Kokoreh and Osofo Atta a.k.a. Prince Atta were arrested in relation to the recent ritual killing involving Martha Tetteh which occurred on Wednesday, June 27, have been remanded into the police custody to reappear in court on August, 4th 2022.

Meanwhile, the headless body of Martha has since been deposited at the Bibiani Government hospital for preservation and autopsy.

The irate youth in Sefwi Bekwai are demanding justice to prevail to enhance the peace they have been enjoying in Sefwi Bekwai and its environs.
