Takoradi: BU residents cry of dusty roads

The progress of work on the BU to Adiembra road in the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis is in a slow pace as Kingspok Construction Company Limited, the Contractors responsible for the road has abandoned the site.

Residents in the area say the contractor left without notice after constructing some drainages, and there are no signs that he will resume work soon.

They told Skyy News that dust has taken over their rooms and they constantly suffer from headaches and other respiratory-related diseases.

The road when completed will be an alternative route for drivers from Fijai, Nkroful and Anaji to Sekondi.

The residents call on the authorities to get the contractor back to the site and complete the road.

“I cannot remember the exact date but the last time I saw them on the site was 2 months ago… When it’s dry, the dust is too much for us which gives us a headache and when it rains too, the road becomes unmotorable.”

“They have dug some holes to construct a drain which has been abandoned since, this is very dangerous to children and people who don’t really know the area, one can fall in and get hurt.”

The residents however urged the government to provide whatever is needed to be given to the contractor to go back to the site and complete the project.
