Majority Caucus in Parliament is calling on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to sack all the ministers at the Ministry of Finance with immeidate effect.
They want Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta and the Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Charles Adu Boahen remove from their posts.
The Members of Parliament (MPs) who belongs to the ruling New Patriotic Party threatened to boycott government business if the President fails to sack them.
According to the lawmakers, numbering about 80, led by MP for Asante Akyem North, Andy Appiah-Kubi who addressed a news conference on Tuesday October 25, 2022 to pressure the President to remove the ministers and their deputies.
Leader of the group said they will not participate in the upcoming budget hearing if those people remain at posts.
He stated that the request has been forwarded to the Presidency through the leadership but to no avail hence the decision to go public.
According to them, their sentiments reflect the position of the NPP caucus in the House.
This has been a unanimous call for the opposition legislators who have constantly called for the Minister’s head with some civil society organisations joining the fray at a point.
