Dr Bawumia donates GHS10,000 to family of late WR Chief Imam

The Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has donated a sum total of GHS10,000 to the family of the late chief imam of the Western Region whose funeral was held on Sunday, October 30 in Sekondi.

Alhaji Sani Abdullah Bawa, the head imam for the Western Region, passed away at the age of 74 years on September 14, 2022.

He died just 4 months after being sworn in as the chief imam when Sheikh Ustaz Dr Ali Hasan Ali, the former Western Regional Chief Imam, passed away on March 29, 2022.

Present at the funeral were the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Western Regional Minister, Mr Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah, MP for Effia Constituency, Mr Joseph Cudjoe, Western Regional NPP Chairman, Mr Ndede Sia, Sports Minister, Mr Mustapha Ussif, and some executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The Vice President shared his deepest condolences with the family. Other executive members of the NPP did the same and donated some sums of money to the family.

Also, members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were present, including the Western Regional Communications Director, Mr Richard Kirk Mensah, MP for Odododiodio Constituency, Mr Nii Lante Vanderpuye including some regional and national executives of the party.
