Western Region: 21yr old mother arrested for abandoning 3-month-old baby

The mother who abandoned her 3-month-old baby at Beahu in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region has been arrested by the Ghana Police Service.

This comes after skyypowerfm.com made a report that a mother had abandoned her 3-month-old baby boy at the Beahu M/A School.

According to an eyewitness, the mother boarded a car at the Beahu bus stop and left after abandoning the baby.

Since the news, the baby had been handed over to the DOVVSU Department of the Ghana Police Service to make the appropriate arrangements.

According to reports, 21-year-old Ama Tawiah has returned to reclaim her baby after abandoning him.

She confessed to her actions and stated that she took the decision due to her inability to care for the baby.

She is currently detained at the Kwesimintsim Police Station and an investigation is being carried out to determine if she is truly the mother of the baby.
