WAEC releases 2022 BECE results

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has announced for the information of the general public, especially students  who wrote last year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), that the provisional results of that exams have been released.

Because both school and private candidates wrote the examinations, WAEC  is dispatching results of school candidates’ to their respective schools through the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Directors of Education while those of private candidates can be accessed at WAEC’s website.

The Council announced that the subject results of 416 school candidates and 3 private candidates have been cancelled “for the offence of either bringing foreign materials into the examination hall or colluding with other candidates”.

Subject results of 38 school candidates have also been withheld.

Unfortunately for some 73 school candidates and 2 private candidates, their entire results have been cancelled.

Eleven others have had their entire results withheld.

“The withheld results of candidates may be cancelled or released based on the outcome of investigations.”

WAEC continued in a statement issued on Wednesday evening that the scripts of candidates from 40 schools in certain subjects are undergoing scrutiny.
