Man butchers wife to death at Wassa Wiredukrom

After an altercation, a 38-year-old man named Atta is accused of butchering his wife, Ama Gifty, to death in Wassa Wiredukrom in the Western Region.

According to the information acquired, the suspect and the victim had been fighting for the previous two months.

Gifty was forced to spend the night at her friend’s house on June 11th when the suspect and the victim got into another altercation.

Ama Gifty, a market vendor, made the decision to go back home on Monday morning, June 12th, to gather her goods for the market.

When she came back, she saw that her husband, Atta, was sitting in a corner of the room, appearing tight, which was unusual for him. She noticed that their two children had already departed for school. Atta always left the house for the farm extremely early in the morning, so this was out of the ordinary.

The victim allegedly went ahead and picked up the supplies she needed for the market when Atta suddenly pounced on her and butchered her to death.

When he tried to leave the room later, he was unsuccessful in opening the door, so he broke through the mesh and nets of the house’s window and fled before the neighbours could respond to the situation.

As a result, the Wassa Manso Police have listed Atta as sought and have sent out a search party to track down the suspect and arrest him.
