Rapper OJ Blaq dies at 40

Popular Ghanaian Rapper and Actor, Andy Nii Akrashie, famed OJ Blaq has passed on at the age of 40.
He passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023.
Since the announcement of his death, tributes have poured in from the entertainment industry and the Empowerment Worship Center, where he worked as a junior pastor.
It is not readily known the cause of death but the rapper through his testimonies in church and other platforms have confirmed that he had been battling kidney disease for several years. Back in 2021, OJ Blaq was diagnosed with this illness and had to get dialysis treatment.
This resulted in massive weight loss of the former signee of Lynx Entertainment.
OJ Blaq was famous for his special way of rapping and for talking about important things in his music.
He began his music career in the early 2000s and released his debut album, ‘The Blaq Mixtape’ in 2006. He went on to release several more albums and singles, including his hit song ‘Chalewote.’
A well-liked actor, OJ Blaq appeared in many Ghanaian movies, including the famous ‘Suncity’ TV soap opera.
