Old Fadama on fire

images (2)A woman phoned the office of www.233times.net about an hour ago. The level of her cry made hearing her an exercise in breath control. After a while, her voice became clear to the hearing of the Receptionist. “Jesus, I’m doomed, I feel like dying. Fadama. The place is on fire. Oh Jesus!” the caller agonized in Twi.

This piece was to be written about 30 minutes ago but following up on the ‘drama’ of the woman to confirm the story delayed it. On arrival at the Old Fadama, there was an inferno at part of the area. Cries were louder than the Fire Service siren at the scene.

People were seen throwing water from sachet water, buckets etc to get the fire out. According to the Fire Service Personnel present, it is too early to detect the cause of the fire but those present said ECG switched their lights off and they only got to know that the lights had come back and as a result, they heard that fire was whizzing through their homes…so they are trying to do a connection between the power outage and the power that was turned on subsequently.

There are Fire Service Personnels available at the scene to help quench the fire.

www.233times.net is following up on the story and will update Readers on up to speed information on it.
