Dancehall Artiste, Stonebwoy has addressed rumours that his recently acquired GIMPA (Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration) certificate was gifted to him rather than earned.
The allegations were made by an individual who claimed to be a classmate of Stonebwoy, asserting that the musician was rarely seen attending classes.
In response, Stonebwoy firmly dismissed the claims, urging Ghanaians to ignore what he called a “false narrative.”
He explained that GIMPA is a reputable institution where students, regardless of their status, must work hard to earn their degrees.
“GIMPA isn’t a school that individuals or popular people will easily be accorded marks for attendance’ sake,” Stonebwoy stated, emphasizing that he earned his Second Class Upper degree through “blood, sweat, and tears.”
During an interview on GTV, Stonebwoy further expressed his frustration with the rumours, attributing them to a “poverty-stricken mentality” and a “failure mentality.”
Additionally, he defended his academic efforts, noting that he attended evening classes due to his schedule, which may have contributed to the misconceptions.
“I couldn’t have done the morning, so I was in evening school, that’s why I love GIMPA for how you can get it done,” Stonebwoy said, adding that the institution has measures like cameras in exam halls to ensure integrity.
He used the national platform to denounce those spreading the rumours, calling them out for attempting to tarnish his achievement.
Nonetheless, Stonebwoy climaxed his statement by expressing his satisfaction with earning his degree and urged others to focus on inspiring and educating rather than spreading baseless accusations.
